Distance CME in Brief:

Distance CME, an e-learning specialist, is offering an easier and softer way to complete the National Standard Curriculum 48 Hour Paramedic Refresher.

Distance CME offers a two year membership, during which time paramedics can participate in LIVE online lectures in palatable 2 hour modules. The modules cover both the core and flexible refresher course content, offering medics the capability of satisfying 100% of the required 48 hours without ever having to leave their home or station.

The lectures are scheduled to accommodate the busy medic’s varying shifts as well as addressing the needs of medics in varying time zones, even paramedics overseas. All the Distance CME instructors are noted subject matter experts in Emergency Medicine, EMS, and emergency services.

Distance CME provides live, distance learning courses, designed around the Department of Transportation’s 48 hour Paramedic Refresher Course. Our classes meet the NREMT’s requirement for distance learning. 100% online, 100% live.

Most courses on the web are pre recorded and count for no more than 10 hours toward your recertification. At Distance CME, our refresher course is live and interactive, and therefore meets all didactic requirements. All 48 hours can be applied to your National Registry recertification. This is the ONLY place on the web where you can find a live course with true flexibility of scheduling to meet your busy schedule.

How it works: Sign up for the course. Check the calendar. Courses are given, day, night, weekdays, and weekends to accommodate all schedules and times zones. Courses are given in short manageable blocks. Log on and take the courses one block at a time. Once you finish the 48 hours of courses,you are

done. Print out your transcript and submit it to National Registry. All memberships are good for up to 24 months. So you can do your courses at your own pace. Distance CME was started by a civilian paramedic deployed with the US Army in Iraq. “ My National Registry Paramedic certification was coming up on its expiration while I was deployed. There was nowhere in dessert where I could take face to face classes to meet the National Registry requirement for non distributive education. I thought, wouldn’t it be great if I could take the required courses online with realtime interaction to meet those requirements? There wasn’t anyone out there that did this. When I came home I found out why. The technology simply wasn’t there. I spent a year putting together technology experts to come up with a solution. The solution is the platform we launched here on Distancecme.com.”
